IT’S GOLD FOR WHEELY-SAFE AT EURO BUS EXPOPublished Thursday, 10th November 2022
Wheely-Safe has landed another top industry award – after winning the Gold prize at the Euro Bus Expo Innovation Challenge.
The Staffordshire-based business beat off the challenge of 23 other fantastic entries to land top spot, as the public transport industry gathered together for the first time in three years at the NEC, Birmingham.
Each of the entries were put on display in the Masterclass Theatre, with delegates at the event placing their votes for their favourites. The most popular exhibitors made it through to the live finals, delivering a 90-second pitch of their initiative to a panel of industry judges.
The panel was made up of: Josh Miles, Director, CPT Cymru; Phil Hitchen, MD, Belle Vue Coaches; Chloe Leach O’Connell, MD, Leach-O’Connell Consultancy; Tom Morgan, Group Commercial Director, trentbarton and Chris Remnant, Engineering Director, Abellio London.
Wheely-Safe came out on top in a closely fought contest.
Steve Jackson, Managing Director at Wheely-Safe, says: “It’s a huge honour to land this award, especially as the level of competition from the other entries was so high. To see so many fantastic innovations raising standards across the industry was truly inspiring.
“Our technology is the only system in the world which can detect the onset of wheel loss before detachment on a moving vehicle, while also tackling wheel end temperature issues. Plus, our intelligent TPMS can help reduce fuel and tyre bills.
“It’s already protecting thousands of buses and coaches around the world, with the ultimate aim to end the global issue of wheel loss once and for all.”
